Microsemi, founded in 1959 as Culver City, California (USA) by Arthur Feldon and Steve Manning, offers a comprehensive portfolio of semiconductor and system solutions for aerospace, defense, communications, datacenter and industrial markets. The company is headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California (USA) and employs around 4,800 people worldwide. In 1999 Microsemi took over the semiconductor manufacturer Linfinity Microelectronics, whose CEO, Jim Peterson, became the CEO of Frey at the end of 2000. In 2015, the company achieved sales of more than $ 1.264 billion.
In March 2018, the company was bought by Microchip.
