The company VITROHM was founded in 1933 in Denmark for producing wire resistors (power resistors ) and carbon mixture layer resistors. After further locations in Germany and Portugal were added, YAGEO Corp. took VITROHM over in 1996. Today VITROHM manufactures in Portugal wirewound resistors and Power film resistors with about 200 employees. VITROHM today is the specialist for low- power resistors, which are widely used as the "shunt" resistors for controlling currents in modern power supplies and power supplies. The painted or fully insulated wirewound resistors will be prepared in addition to the known resistors in ceramic case. Wirewound resistors with fuse function are also in the portfolio. Additionally SMD versions are available.
